About Us
When Something Has to Change, This Is Where to Start
Men don’t come to Joshua House at the beginning of the problem.
By the time they arrive, addiction is already impacting their life, at home, at work, or in their relationships.
Some make the call themselves.
Others are pushed to it by people who care about them.
For some, it’s one of the last options available.
Wherever they’re coming from, the goal is the same:
Get out of the cycle they’ve been stuck in and build something more stable going forward.
A Different Way Forward
Joshua House is a long-term residential recovery program for men who are stuck in addiction and need a structured way forward.
It’s not a quick stay. The program is designed to give men time to step out of the environments that have been keeping them stuck and move through a process that builds real change over time.
Men start in a more stable setting, where the focus is on stabilizing and resetting. From there, they move into shared homes where daily routines, responsibilities, and accountability become part of everyday life. As they progress, the focus shifts toward independence, including work, next steps, and maintaining stability outside the program. At any given time, around 100 men are in different stages across multiple homes.

The goal is straightforward:
To help men step out of addiction and build a more stable, independent life.
This program works best for men who are ready to try something different, even if they don’t have everything figured out yet. It requires showing up, following structure, and staying with the process long enough for it to start working.
Joshua House is a Christian ministry, and there is a spiritual component to the program. At the same time, men come from a wide range of backgrounds. What matters most is a willingness to engage and participate.
Before coming to Joshua House, my life was completely broken, and I was a slave to cocaine and alcohol, hurting myself and everyone around me.
Here, I’m becoming a new man, rebuilding relationships and growing in faith in a way I never could before. The journey hasn’t been easy, but for the first time in 12 years, I’m overcoming my addiction one day at a time and living a new life grounded in hope.
